Charlie Salomon: The Influencer of Funeral Service

My story about Charlie Salomon appears in this month’s ‘American Funeral Director.’ It’s the second time I’ve had the honor of writing about him. Honestly, even ten stories wouldn’t be enough to show who he is. These days, when being an “influencer” is a job, Charlie is the real deal. He has handled some of the biggest funerals New York has ever seen, including Mayor Ed Koch, Marvin Hamlisch, Steven J. Ross, and William Paley. Still, he’s never felt the need to talk about it. No posts, no self-promotion. Just quiet skill, humility, and grace.

After sixty years as a funeral director, he’s still going strong and still showing us what it means to live a life of service. Writing about his career was a privilege, but being able to call him a friend means even more.
